University Fit Out & RefurbishmentCampus Work Delivered Around Semesters, Not Instead of Them
University estates rarely stand empty. Buildings run through teaching semesters, resits and open days, often with research activity that cannot be interrupted and listed fabric that limits what can be altered. We work with estates teams to sequence the job across those constraints: lecture theatres and seminar rooms, laboratories and technical space, libraries and study areas, student union and social space, halls of residence and academic offices. Surveys, procurement and long-lead items are handled early so the work lands inside the window the estate can actually give us.

FAQsUniversity Fit Out FAQs
Yes. Campus work is normally phased building by building or floor by floor, with hoarding, separate access and dust and noise control so lectures, exams and research continue alongside the works.
Yes. Laboratory and technical refurbishments are coordinated with the department and any specialist equipment suppliers, because services, extraction and bench layouts usually set the sequence for the rest of the work.
Listed fabric limits what can be fixed, routed or removed, so the design is developed with the estates team and the relevant consents in mind. Reversible fixings and surface-mounted services are often used instead of cutting into original fabric.
The summer vacation is the largest uninterrupted window on most campuses and gets booked well in advance. Bringing us in at feasibility stage means surveys and long-lead procurement are finished before that window opens.
